Nice to see another ASX company enter the CAR-T space, albeit at the very early stages (it usually takes companies 5-10 years to get from where Adalta are to a FDA phase 1 trial). Had a look into the i-body technology, and found it quite interesting that it is derived from the immune system of sharks.
Though I'm not a holder yet, I am doing some research and I'm interested in what I'm seeing so far... as the concept of using something naturally occurring rather than a synthetically derived technology is the heart of another company I hold shares in, who coincidently is in the CAR-T space.
What may interest some of you is that the core asset CHM has is derived from a peptide found in scorpion venom, which has a natural ability to bind extremely well to glioblastoma, which is the most severe and hard to treat brain tumor where most patients die within 5-8 months.
Though CHM is on a different path to market, as they licensed two CAR-T assets that has already demonstrated safety and outstanding pre-clinical results through 5-10 years of development. The scorpion venom derived one is called CLTX and that is half way through it's FDA phase 1 trial, and the second is a third-generation CAR-T from University of Penn targeting antigen CDH-17 (that's where the first ever FDA approved CAR-T was founded).
If nothing else, keep an eye out for CHM just to see what Adalta could be in for in the coming years. A very exciting space to be in at the moment, that's for sure.
