Cardia Bioplastics expands product offering into consumer healthcare and beauty market
Cardia Bioplastics (ASX: CNN), in a world first, will produce organic and biodegradable facial wipes within renewable content packaging in partnership with ECOCARE™.

Importantly, this expands Cardia’s already diverse portfolio into the growing consumer healthcare and beauty market, and provides a platform for new supply contracts in an untapped market.

The global plastics packaging market was estimated at around $180 billion in 2009, with sustainable and renewable packaging estimated at less than 1% of the plastics packaging market and with exponential growth potential.

Under the partnership, Cardia’s renewable Biohybrid™ resins will form the basis of the ECOCARE™ facial wipes packaging.

With the global trend towards green and environmentally friendly products, Cardia is in a strong position to benefit and gain market share.

    Continued strategic alliances

Earlier this month, Cardia announced a new partnership with Alto Packaging to deliver environmentally friendly packaging systems to the food industry.

Cardia will provide the renewable resins to form the basis of Alto’s packaging systems.
