    Here are two reasons for paying off the US debt. Cardno was sitting on cash of $182m at the end of the December half year results, so why have that cash at the same time as having interest chargeable debt of $345m. Secondly, the Aussie dollar has gone up from around 72.5c on December 31st to 77.11c now - an increase of 6.4% so why not use that increase in value of Aussie dollars to pay off the US debt particularly if you think that the Aussie dollar might turn back down in the future. It seems a good idea to me.
