maybe it's to do with the process rather i.e. mechanical over electrical/ distilation, aren't the CWE systems high pressure water through a membrane rather than heating the water to distil it.  Perhaps this direct mechanical system is more efficient for production, however i suspect that the membrane cost would be high.
