Fair point. What I'm trying to say is if you're not an Austratax resident then you can't get the CGT discount- it doesn't matter if you hold for a year or less. But it really depends on the rules of your jurisdiction. Someone mentioned on here a while back that they sold as they were in the US and any distribution would be treated like a dividend- the company is seeking an ATO ruling, not an IRS one even though it's listed in the US as well.
