Brine will be in the sand and gravel horizons. Clays have low porosity (space between grains) and permeability (connectivity of spaces - ability to transmit fluid); clean sands and gravels have high porosity and permeability.
i’ve had a quick look at the LAC 43-101 doc for Cauchari-Olaroz filed in March 2019 for comparison. Profiles in pumping tests (p. 145) include 16-70m of overburden, then 26-220m of productive aquifer. So similar to LKE’s hole.
