Think its good news. $750m is not big in terms of bank capital raising. All those that dumped yesterday in anticipation of buying cheaply in a placement will now have to wait until January for the opportunity, and its not big anyway. Thats a long time for instos to be underweight our strongest banking stock in a volatile market, so suspect we bounce when trading resumes.
We little guys get the chance to buy in a SPP, but not until around Feb/March 2009.
