The short answer is that the water in the pipes will not freeze provided that they are buried with more than 1M of cover.
The pumped water is warm because of the depth/temperature gradient.
It is worth noting that ERCE reviewed the Nomgon Pilot Design in conjunction with Elixir's geologist so IMO there is very little chance of it not behaving.
