So when you say gas, what kind of gas was it? Hydrogen, LPG, LNG? What was the reason they scrapped the trial? If it was safety, hydrogen is arguably safer than methane based gases as it is so light it rises very fast into the surrounding air whereas methane based gases being heavier than air tend to accumulate at ground level posing a greater threat.
