Interesting trading! I am sure there are a lot of short-termers who were always going to sell on news, and there was an expectation of news by today. Or it could be a bear raid; I'm sure a bear raid could be quite successful in this case given the high hopes for the CDP being successful (= a lot of people buying in and now nervously watching and hoping for the best).
Or maybe it just exploded when they hit the switch. Who knows?
