CBA holds shares on behalf of subsidiary companies such as Realindex Investments and as such had a holding of just over 5%. (18 million shares I think)
Realindex as stated in the announcement is no longer a 'subsidiary and associate' and only needed to remove or sell a relatively small holding for CBA to drop below their 5% classified substantial holding.
