Did a bit more digging.
On the 26/11/2010 . Mel issued a 3B notice. This was a result of some options being exercised and also some options for new employees (directors). This was voted on at the 2010 AGM.
Seems like LNG slipped below the 5% mark at this time but did not pick it up.
LNG's original holding announced 16/9/2010 was 5.03% of MEL a total of 12604412 shares. (MEL total was 250803486 at 19/9/2010). They still hold the same number according to the notice today, hence LNG did not participate in the capital raising.
I do not think this changes the situation much - LNG still promote prominantly their MEL holding in their quarterly reports. (Q report issued beginning of August 2011)
