Resmed and Cochlear are blue chips in this space and a bit incomparable to SRX. I mean sleep apnea machines/ nasal pillow masks and advanced bionic ears are a bit different to SRX's SIR spheres but I do take your point. And Chris Roberts will be sorely missed, Chris Smith has his work cut out.
Governance, risk and compliance has always been shoddy in Australia, from Governor Macquarie onwards, securities and corporations law has always been wild and the regulators about as good as the politicians which are near atrocious, see the Health Secretary Ley saga.
A decent hedge to SRX is probably not BTG, it is probably MPL and NHF IMHO as if liver cancer is not reimbursed and is not profitable, the medical/ health insurers should be raking it in and now they do not even have an effective Health Secretary now that she has stepped down.
Sussan Ley and GW would be good networkers together, they have similar interests, ethics and disclosures (or the lack thereof).
