Interesting how these guys ply their trade going back through annexure C - I've never done shorts or longs and only have a limited knowledge - I know the shorters "borrow" the shares then if their play comes off they buy back the same amount as they borrowed on market and give the same total of shares back to the lender.

What sucks about it though is if you "borrow" shares and then dump them onto the market having made a bet that the sp will go lower then the sp movements are artificial and not reflecting the true market which explains why the market overshoots on downtrends - the lower the shorts can drive the sp the cheaper it will be for them to cover "their" borrowed shared and thus the greater their profit.

A no brainer when you had a falling poo but I think we're seeing a bottoming of this easy short money so the risk of continuing to bet lower is increasing.
