Great JIF. Even after all these years I still don't fully understand how the shorting game fully works. They have gone from just over 5% to just under 5% so does that mean they leant the ~ 1% of stock to shorters or are they the shorters themselves!!? collateral returned makes it sound like they were the shorters but I thought shorters dont own the stock on their name i.e. UBS buys stock to lend it to people that want to short it.
