Just interested in starting a discussion around whether economic downturn affects travel. As some travel agents have been returning growth in recent times as well.
obviously if people lose their jobs they aren't going to plan on a holiday, but for those with jobs i m in belief that people will go on holiday no matter what cycle the economy is in. They will just save up for the trip and go on the holiday. I think the temptation to go on a holiday is too great for most of us and if you can save up for it then why not. I m in the same view myself. I have a fulltime job and am saving up but i don't care about the economic cycle. I ll be going no matter what.
