Bar in mind last year (i.e. the crops harvested at the end of 2019 and into early 2020) was a disaster as I understand it.

Lots of grain has been railed from western and northwestern Victoria (places like Birchip on the Mildura line and Dimboola on the main interstate Melbourne - Adelaide line) to locations such as Milvale (near Cootamundra), Parkes in central western NSW and Moree in northern NSW for use as feed grain. There's also been trains from Victoria to various mills around Sydney. Some of these trains are still running: a surprise as by now one would have thought the Victorian silos would be empty or close to it.

The harvest should - touch wood - be great not just in NSW but Victoria as well.

Places like Keith SA (also on the Adelaide- Melbourne rail line) and Walpeup Vic (Mallee) got 11 and nine mm of rain over the weekend so while not a huge amount, it "may" help the crops along (depending as farmers who know more than city types like me) as to whether there's already subsoil moisture in the roots zone. (Graingrowers: please correct me).
