Is it just me or is there something unusual about the consideration received for 70,437,945 ordinary class shares in DEG? Just $143,773.86 sounds a little light at just over $2.04 per 1,000 shares. It sounds very wrong to me. So, what are the possibilities here?
1. It was a typographical error and will be revised tomorrow.
2. It was a derivatives trade that blew up and Invesco lost big. Really big.
3. Invesco was fronting for a suitor and a takeover may be about to be launched.
While the Hemi orebody has got the attention of the majors the tight ownership of DEG may make the maneuverings difficult. We have no choice but to sit on our hands and hope like Hell that the suitor cannot hit the threshold to make a bid.
