Hotcopper is littered with post from people getting excited when Macquarie or Credit Suisse or State Street are listed as substantial holders. There are 3-4 reasons why this might be the case, but in most cases, it's not them taking an equity interest or ownership interest in a company. More often than not its custody or prime broking for an investment manager.
It's not always what it may seem. Worth doing the homework
