.41% - still 13 mill shares they are playing with. Looks small in % terms and only 1-2 days trading volume so nice and liquid for the players. Enough volume for the bots to churn pips while awaitinga direction

You can't trust the numbers as net shorts may be much smaller and instos have the ability to hold long and short in seperate accounts and not net them out or have options coverage. Need to also look at listed ETO open positions to see what is in market.
STO has been a brilliant range trade as you have done which is amazing considering the potential but it has never had all its ducks lining up. Be it politics or project delays commodity prices it hasn't for a long time had that golden 6 months where it runs on repeated good project and price news..

Shorts may not like buyback as it tempers any downside pressure they can manipulate the price with taking some volatility out of equation so maybe not the waste of time I initially thought.

Your strategy is as smart as it needs to be - take some middle ground $ - easy $ and walk away , reload when opportunity arises and go again hopefully having a trailing stop incase it runs against you. Hang around for the dividend incase it comes with some franking - possible but unlikely? Buy and hold is so old hat these days.

Hard to believe STO won't keep churning out cash but it really needs approvals or change in political attitude to

Kevs idea is basically to keep lowest cost assetts producing and stay in lowest cost quartile for country / client and have long term supply contracts and hope the governments don't do any more stupid things. Probably bid low for any accretive or strategis nearby leases with nearology only when smaller companies are bending over as there is no way in Australia thata small company can get a new least funded and running .

Good to see John Brookes back online and I assume they brougght forward all maintainance going forward done so it has clear runway for a while to throw off cash.

Will teh punter like it? That is the daily question and every down day is just making STO look better value and a buy IMO.

Can't wait for the Government to cap banks margins on loans same as they have done on gas to get the inflation genie back in the bottle and why not do supermarkets as well. Fair is fair why target one industry? .
