If ACV isn't the right metric then give us something else. I'd personally prefer to see a utilization metric (data points processed, stored, retrieved, etc). A client with no usage means the contract won't be renewed. A client fully utilized their contracted use will be renewed and likely increase.

I think the “Product manufacturing and operating costs” line in the 4C’s and/or the “Cost of services” line in the accounts give you a good proxy for usage.
It’s a bit lumpy, but the upward trend is solid.
