You sound like a geologist and that is exactly what we need on this thread - a bit of expert/experienced input.
The way things appear to be developing I am wondering if Gonneville up to Dampier/Baudin all share a common source - as far as I can recall at the moment the chemistry is similar.
If perchance it is a common source it may follow:
1. That the forest is no longer a factor because any mining would be around 1000 metres underground
2. That the chances of locating the so far elusive massive sulphide traps may be improved
So I suppose one question is .....is Gonneville just a sideshow with the main event somewhere around the 1000 M underground level?
Another question ......did the darling range arise at the same time as when this intrusion occurred?
