That would mean they have to buy, not sell, right?
Would Vanguard short themselves, or would they buy the shares and lend them to someone else to short?
Either way, they bought high and sold low, so this doesn't fill me with confidence. They sold more on March 14th than they had bought since Feb 2nd, so I guess they also had holdings at a much lower buy price and sold a big chunk to take profit/offset the losses from their recent purchases?
Happy to be corrected here, I'm just guessing.
