Regal is a pioneer in Australia of the long short hedge fund - they have teams who can carve off some capital to play with - do some shorting, horse trading and go long all at once and the guy who is successful gets his own portfolio and goes up the ladder. Like the shorts they have a lot of research material and spend 24/7 on it, with the singular aim of making the bucks whatever it takes. The Analyst for all we know could be somebody's pub mate stirring the pot - he certainly read like one.
