    Haha - not quite. It refers to small buyers buying and holding forever (as in diamond hands which are strong) as a way of reducing the float to force short sellers to fight over an ever dwindling pool of shares from which they can close out their positions, thus forcing the price up. As opposed to paper hands which are really weak and sell at the first sign of trouble which allow the shorts sellers to have their way with you and your shares. I think the term came out of the gamestop fiasco on Reddit's wall street bets.
