Can either of you please explain how shorts hurt ordinary stock holders?. I claim they don't and no one has explained this yet why I am wrong.
Broker buy a share that is +1 then loans a share to a shorter-, (1 -1 =0) The broker does great no mater what happens because the fee for loaning a share to short are high. Shorter loses lots of money if SP increases FEES plus replacement cost. If it goes down shorter makes money but still pays the loan fees.
How does this hurt regular owners of the stock especially if they are truly long term holders.
