Yep, they target the opening and closing price to try and affect sentiment and the recorded price, the VWAP and intraday prices don't matter as far as they are concerned. If they can knock it down a few percent in the last few minutes and in the closing auction, they will throw the kitchen sink.
Yet IMO the volume weighted share price tells the more important story.
