Crescat dumped Heliostar in a similar way a few years ago. The reason was apparently some dispute between Crescat and the company. I held it at the time and the drop was brutal enough to shake me out. They have since recovered over 3x from where the Crescat dump drove them to. I know at least one other fund manager in the space has said privately that he holds a very dim view of Crescat's tactics, and their judgement.
