Seems the penny is finally dropping but at the speed of a pre 90s fax machine.
Get rid of this perceived threat to PCR testing and get on with using it for what it is designed for.
They seem to have finally discovered that it might be actually quite useful as an adjunct test helping to produce a better result and more in depth diagnosis.
PCR testing will never be totally effective because of the human element involved in sample handling.
Pinprick antibody testing helps eliminate that if there are inconclusive results.
The chances of someone stuffing it up are a lot less.
