no one is questioning the use or merit of antibody testing in conjunction with PCR test or on its own. The question and all this caution is to find a good antibody test and the complexity of antibody response in COVID-19
if it was a simple infection the scientists would have cracked things by now. It’s a brand new virus and every new pathogen needs research before we find ways To treat it.
the problem is not the antibody test kits, if that was the
case the immunologists/ pathologists / researchers would have gone ahead with laboratory serology testing - they are not even confident on that. That shows the problem lies with our understanding of how to interpret the body’s inherent immune response - so that we can accurately test it!

take for example Hepatitis B infection - it requires atleast 3 types of antibodies measurements and also antigen testing to diagnose its stages.

the problem at hand is - it’s a new virus and we st
