Have had a look in the Medicare Benefits Schedule for the rebates which apply to Covid-19 tests. I can find two items, numbers 69479 and 69480. Both apply to Nucleic Acid tests.

I cannot find any rebates for POC tests, of the kind that CDY proposes to purchase, and proposes to sell to GPs, Specialists, Pathology Labs, and remote Practitioners. The Government, of course, appears to be uninterested in this type of test at present.

Therefore, it seems to be that, at the moment, the cost of using a Covid-19 POCT would need to be, either absorbed into the consultation fee, or charged to the patient. Cost would be a big factor, I would imagine.

Of course, this is at present, and could change in the future, as could any other CDY activity aspiration, such as getting a MK partner.

But it might account for for the present SP that the Market obviously feels is about right.
