Bob has over 30 years’ experience in banking at senior levels and is one of the original founders of Origin Capital. Bob is currently on the Board of the Bank of China and has been on the Board of Gardner Smith since 1997 and was elected Chairman in August 2007.
Bob’s career has been in the finance industry associated with the agribusiness sector. A law and commerce graduate, he spent time at the Wharton School of Management with the University of Pennsylvania. He has held positions including with the Philadelphia National Bank, the Rural Bank of NSW, the State Bank of New South Wales as Chief General Manager and Executive Director at AIDC overseeing business opportunities and investments.
Bob is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and High Court of Australia and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Paul Binsted

Paul Binsted has been a Professional Non-Executive Company Director since January 2008 and is a member of the Origin Capital Group Advisory Board.

Previously Paul was an Investment Banker specialising in Corporate Finance from 1982 to 2007. During that time he held senior positions at Lloyds Corporate Advisory Services, Schroders, Salomon Smith Barney (now Citigroup) and in addition was the Managing Director and Joint CEO of Lazard.
He has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate financial advice. He also holds a deep interest in both macro and micro economics including in particular the relationship of capital and banking markets to macro-economic stability and micro-economic efficiency.
Mr Binsted was Chairman of Sydney Ports Corporation from 2006 to December 2009 and the State Rail Authority of NSW from 1998 to 2002. He was a Director of Donaldson Coal Holdings Limited from 2008 including being Deputy Chairman for 2009 until Noble Group acquired the minority shareholdings. He is also a Member of the Financial Sector Advisory Council which provides advice to the Government on policies to facilitate the growth of a strong and competitive financial sector, the Implementation Taskforce for the Australian Financial Centre Forum which is responsible for establishing the institutional arrangements to promote Australia as a leading financial services centre and the Shipping Reform Task Force.
He is a Member of the Economics Society of Australia and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
