The point is "harsh treatment" would endanger the business model of the state of Ireland. States compete with each other to host such businesses or gain this status and you do not want to lose your desirability. So we may hear a lot about stick, but eventually, this is "storm in a teacup". Minimal impact (in the scale of 10%) making today's reaction enormously overblown in hindsight (even now, we understand that 27% of revenue is at stake, yet the stock was being traded half price at the market opening).
The point is "harsh treatment" would endanger the business model...
