My understanding is that the key US role is to deal with the FDA to get the new drug candidates approved via the various regulatory bodies in a timely manner. If months can be saved then its definitely worth it. Remember, if the success with the optic cup, retina layers and phagocytosis issues are in fact achieved by end of this quarter then we are actually very close to trials involving these bodies ( 6 months?) so being across this is important. I think it is an indication of how confident they are at the moment.
