You are not on your own Patrolly, I also have a substantial amount tied up in this also, but there was some positive stuff in the report, namely this bit "As a result of Metal Storm’s investment in the exhibitions we are progressing a number of potential opportunities with US and international government agencies, as well as commercial companies interested in co-development and marketing co-operation."

I am led to believe that Lee tried very hard to get the details (names) of that particular part of the release approved by those companies, also remember that some of these delays if not all? have come about through no fault of MST's, but more because of external influences, due to things like last minute design changes requested by the customer in waiting!

I also believe that once the ammo is certified, it could mean that Firestorm will hit the ground running, iRobot would certainly want that I believe, the 3GL and the MAUL still have to go through man firing once the ammo is certified, and this could possibly mean it takes a tad longer, I would tend to think that a far more stringent testing would be required? mainly because it is held by a human, i would assume that would be the order of the day, but I am sure the wait will be worthwhile, and remember also that this is only the very begginning of the MST story IMHO, the real moneyspinners are yet to come, from the mach 5/50 area, did you notice the last patent that the adder posted on the other thread, that particular patent will be for an automatic weapon that fires at mach 5/50, and the weapon will be either mag fed or belt fed using cartridges, and I reckon the AICW is a prime candidate, I reckon it will have a high velocity grenade launcher "AND" a high velocity rifle, and both would be capable of firing over a number of ranges that is it would be scalable by choice!
And lets not forget the Advanced Artillery weapon as well!!

I doubt very much that the Oz Government will let MST tech slide into oblivion Patrolly, it has way too much potential as a money spinner for them as well, not to mention future employment and a much bigger defense industry here in Oz as well, they will not let the company fall into foreign hans IMHO.
