seriously, the contract stated either party could terminate the agreement with 3 months notice so who knows who terminated.

when you search back through company announcements to activities from about 3 months ago that may be a reason for either parties loss of interest in continuing the arrangement, there is an announcement on 23 august that any professional geoscientist should be unhappy with, but then, that's par for tmb.
