I understand your frustration regarding Forums, Conferences and Expo's. Other than attracting additional Investors or trying to solely generate News or updates from attending there are other considerable benefits.

Initial attraction to the technology, informing the Sector / Pharma Who you are and What you do and what you are making a play at.

Attending enables the opportunity for Pharma to gather intel at arms length , carry out due diligence before even contacting the attending companys in this case FTT

Attending can also deter others from entering your space to deliver a similar product or service, especially when demonstrating that the company FTT in this case is extremely progressed. Very hard to get something off the ground when others are dominating or progressed in the same field, investors like to be part of the original, there will always be followers but the original path finders are the most profitable as the original eats up market share while others are in the Lab trying to not only succeed but avoid stepping on the commercialised companys IP, that can be a minefield in itself if FTT have completed a professional IP protection strategy.. 

Only months ago an ASX Biotech had a $15m injection directly from a Party who had discussions with the investment party a year earlier at a conference... you just don't know who's in the wings , Ready and willing with a war chest to participate in FTTs success....

Those who are in are early adopters of technology and will have the greatest return for early investment,,, equaling the level of risk..
