I purchased at MYR Melbourne (the flagship CBD store) this afternoon.
The ground floor (perfumes, ladies' handbags and the like) and the first floor (ladies' fashion IIRC) were doing a steady trade. The fifth floor (homewares, linen and bathroom accessories) was very quiet. Unlike some other Australian states, Thursdays is not late night shopping in Victoria (it's Friday). Normally MYR is busiest on weekends in my experience.
From a quick look at the fourth floor (gift items for Christmas near the escalators and lifts), it was well stocked. Too early to purchase anything for Christmas unless mailing it to a friend interstate or overseas (difficult as the latter is with some nations temporarily not accepting parcels due to a lack of passenger aircraft carrying air freight. Pre-COVID-19, 80 per cent of air freight was carried by passenger aircraft not freighters).
It won't surprise that the vast majority of shoppers were female.
