The MYR Giftorium is on the sixth floor of the flagship Melbourne CBD store.
It has everything from Christmas trees to small bangles and bells, plus Christmas cards and a large range of other seasonal products. The website may not be a complete list but it shows 364 Giftorium items.
On the fifth floor there's heaps of gift ideas.
There were more people in the Melbourne CBD store mid-afternoon than I'd seen on a weekday for months, partly explained by the warmer, more humid weather. MYR itself was reasonably busy with the exception of ladies' fashion, but many women were on the ground floor sampling cosmetics.
There were lots of young females (rough age guide: 18-26) going up the escalators and a few mums with prams and toddlers heading, I'd suspect for the sixth/seventh floors and Father Christmas. One asked me what floor he was on, so not everyone comes in-store knowing this.
The famous Christmas windows were attracting a steady stream but there was no queue, reflecting how it's not the weekend. Tuesday is normally the quietest shopping day of the week for many retailers.
A shop assistant mentioned she expected 'Black Friday' later this week with numerous discounts to be even busier than the Myer One holders' 16 November 1800-2100 AEDT special night.
