Less than a day after my previous post, Alexa suggests the relative popularity of MYR's website has inched up further to rank at #86 for Australian-domiciled searches.

This is very pleasing, even though one would expect increased interest during 'Black Friday' and 'Cyber Monday' sales.

It provides a good launching pad for Christmas shopping, and shows how consumer awareness of MYR nationally is on the rise. A lot of this has to do with the continual changes on the MYR site, which is usually easy to search and quick to bring up relevant desired items.

Having been in Melbourne's MYR flagship store a few times, it's been good in homewares to see the floor fully stocked. CEO John King will soon disabuse me of any notion that MYR has escaped supply chain problems, but to the casual observer, a sufficient level of inventory is in-store.

Many MYR offerings are merchandise one won't find at WOW's BigW, WES' KMart and Target or dare I say it South African Woolworths Holdings' David Jones.

One of the biggest challenges for MYR is shared with other retailers such as ADH, HVN, JBH, KGN and TPW: how to ensure the vast majority of online purchases are delivered prior to 25 December 2021. KGN has started a limited capital city own delivery service. MYR has publicised a cutoff date for online shoppers who want certainty of 12 December.

The best solution for me has been to shop personally at a MYR store but occasionally, items are bulky. Online shopping is the only feasible method.
