For me it is clear that folk have significantly underestimated the demand side with exponential growth being clearly demonstrated. Giga factory after giga factory is being brought online as we scramble to ramp up an industry that we should have had decades ago.
Many manufacturers have been slow off the mark and are playing catchup. There will be a resource shortage and a scramble to sure up the materials base.
The best chemistries for Li ion batteries today are Ni-rich and Co can't be eliminated. No other tech seems viable in the short term. So NMC is here for a while. Sure there is risk but so is there with everything
I started research on Li-ion battery chemistry almost 20 years ago and things have played out pretty much as I thought.
The platinum group metal potential of the project needs to be factored in.
