If he delivered what he was supposed to why do all his STI's need to be completely rewritten to accommodate current state? He will get over 2x his old salary if something already agreed upon occurs over a few months on top of his pay rise, then if tranche 2 doesn't come - not his problem, or if he is a good leaver, not his problem.
I don't need to have done any better than Simon by virtue of not being employed to do better than Simon, this is why I don't hit Simon up to help me do my job either. No one is ungrateful to get something back, but it doesn't add up.
We have nothing in our pockets yet, that's what the performance bonus should be based on to be aligned.
