A CEO is more than just a figure head, and will have an impact. Look at Sol and Telstra. I have always maintened that PEO's growth since becoming a public company, has been "lazy". The directors have also been, shall we say, lax in their attention to the share price. No big deal if its low you may say, but, if they wish to borrow for growth or an aquisition for example, they need as large a SP as possible.
I feel the change, provided the new CEO is up to par, is for the better. Perhaps I am giving the directors, Ryan ,and the board too much credit, but maybe they realize that they need to grow the company more agggresively, and to increase the SP, and to do that they need a different person at the helm to drive it.
