In terms of technology improvements I saw a slide this week showing that instead of going A to B to C, it is possible to go directly from A to C with corresponding speed improvements. Unfortunately I did not screenshot it, but it is the nature of the technology to continually improve and so the response times will gradually improve. I am pretty sure it was an Nvidia presentation. If I find it I will post it.
