very odd that a board would place such responsibility in such young and inexperienced hands when there was clearly some relatively high-level financial matters that required a good understanding and close monitoring. There is surely an argument that the business judgement rule was not satisfied and s.180(1) of the Corporations Act was breached. Will be interesting to see if anyone who has suffered a financial loss will start an action around these events.

However, I clearly do not have all the facts. I have not seen the world through their spectacles and maybe this young man was exceptional and deserved the position, but if I was a shareholder it is this justification that I would want to hear.
