As far as I am aware, Ceto 6 will not have desalination capability, other than to provide renewable energy to drive turbines in a conventional desalination plant.
Besides, Ceto 5 has direct desalination capability already, so no need to go there again.
The Ceto 6 concept was devised to allow arrays to be located in deep water, further from shore. An array 10 to 15 kilometres from land is too far out for a pressurised pipeline to be workable.
One thing that I am not clear on is, can the Ceto 5 model be upscaled to a bigger version with greater energy and desalination output? Before Ceto 6 became an option, that appeared to be the way they were heading.
It might be that the cost savings and efficiency of Ceto 6 has now rendered that option obsolete.
As far as I am aware, Ceto 6 will not have desalination...
