The announcement claimed an increase of output by up to 1.5 MW, this paper suggests it could be as high as 2.3 MW.

"The performance of the three-tether WEC has been analysed in irregular waves using the state-of-the-art methods. It has been shown that the buoy mass reduction may lead to an increased power output while requiring more costly PTO system and foundation. The disk-like shape of the buoyant actuator shows the best performance in terms of different cost-related measures including the mean absorbed power, the energy on wetted surface ratio and the energy on the significant PTO force ratio for both one- and multi-tether arrangements. In addition, results demonstrated that the three-tether PTO configuration can provide up to 2.3 times more power as compared to the the same buoy connected to one tether."
