Magellan manages someone else's money but FMG is in charge of its own destiny. The ex CFO is essentially the ex CEO appointment. So maybe the bond of friendship is at play and maybe there is also a difference of vision too about how much of the iron ore profit should be sunk into FFI. FFI is still an unknown beast at this point.
