Nuclear is not cheap at all. Costs $34b US. Your power bills would go through the roof and then the cost of storing the nuclear waste would be in the billions. Solar and battery is what most countries are doing including Australia. Every state in Australia is going solar plus battery as its dirt cheap.
Nuclear power plants take about 15 years to build. They have to be built to with stand a 747 crashing into them in case of attack.
1 in 3 homes in Australia now have solar and they do it due to zero power bills.
