re: Ann: CFU signs new contract with EON for ... Not sure of the system in OZ although I have been told it is more transparent and fair but I bought my shares in CFU via a trading account with HSBC. i placed my order with a price limit, which also applies to selling, and someone with a screen places the order in the market. I believe that MMs then give prices and my nerd is supposed to take the best price and close the deal. The shares are then held in a nominee account at HSBC where all the CFU shares purchased by customers of HSBC are held. I could extract my shares from this account but, as all shares are now all in electronic form, I see little point. Whilst the shares are in a nominee account the bank can loan them to a third party, for a fee,and this has been a source of contention in the past.Shorters can borrow the shares that the bank does not own and sell them, which is not in the interest of the proper owners. Some say that the MMs manipulate the market although I have heard of no proof of this, but I have seen some very strange things happen to SPs without apparent reason. To my mind AIM is opaque, unfair and slanted against the PI.I have seen spreads of 30% or more totally putting a block on any trading of that particular share. I will not be investing on AIM again.
Another way of trading is by using a broker or similar, a route with which you should be familiar. I am sorry if I am telling you something you already know but, if not, I hope this helps.
As far as CFU is concerned, only 15% of their shares were issued on AIM so I don't suppose you get a true reflection of the value of the company over here. The AIM has completely bombed in the last 18 months with loads of profitable companies trading on valuations less than their cash balances. Nobody is buying and the smallest indication of risk is met with vicious mark downs by MMs. Not a great place to be for a company with only enough money to see it through until the end of March. 2 years ago, with recent news under it's belt, even with funding issues, this SP would have been many %100s higher; but that was 2 years ago.
